Thursday, 30th June saw us holding our Charity fashion Show at the Tigers ground, once again, ably assistaed by the De Montfort University Design Team lead by Gillian Proctor. However, before the catwalkers started catwalking we had a delightful opening, audience participating, dance & song routine incorporating our ‘age old friend’ supercalafragilistic……………….ous! The kids from Dance Activate (choreography by Yvette Bailey) pulled off a stunning display and received a rapturous applause from our growing audience. The models were, as usual, stunning and you have to hand it to them….. they are fearless as they display the wonderful designs & colours from their lingerie department. Of course there were far more models and designs to savour but you need to get yourselves to next years show to see the full beauty of the fabulous designs they create. After watching the models display their beautiful array of designs we had Dance Activate baqck on the staging-this time the older group (known as Ballet Up) who performed a wonderful tribute to the legend that was PRINCE -and boy oh boy it WAS good!
Our host, Mr Willie Thorne, was as eloquent as ever as he simply glided through the evening and then he helped to draw and announce the raffle prizes – our star prize going to a couple from the Fairfield Pub (well done them). It was a night where our cake stall performed exceedingly well (not surprising considering that our baking team had pulled out all the stops) and “Lary Bear” was named BERNARD and found a new home.
It was a cracking night ( we have already received a nice few compliments) which raised £792.00 for the charity so it’s a big thank you to all of you for making it such a magical night!
